Note: Rajeshwara Simha used Devanagari legends on some of his coinage due to the increasing influence of Brahmanical culture and Hinduism within the Ahom kingdom, which led to the adoption of the Sanskrit language and the associated Assamese-Bengali & Devanagari script for official purposes, including coinage. The legends on the coins typically invoked Hindu deities, such as Lord Shiva and his consort Goddess Gauri (Parvati). Using Sanskrit in the local script served to emphasize the king's devotion and reinforce the Hindu identity of the kingdom. He also issued coins with Persian script, reflecting Mughal influence in other areas.
