Regional governors were becoming semi-independent. After defeating Aram Shah, Iltutmish, Secured the Delhi fort in Mehrauli area. Brought the influential Turkish nobles under his control. Reorganized the army stationed in Delhi to ensure loyalty. Iltutmish made Delhi the true political, administrative, and cultural capital of the Sultanate. Delhi mint is crucial in Indian coinage, Iltutmish helped standardize medieval Indian monetary systems. He Introduced the Copper Jitals. Silver Tankas and 1/2 Tankas.
