Obv: BANK OF MADRAS in semi circular on top, above the Vignette of Equestrian statue of Sir Thomas Munroe, Governor of Madras. Denominations in numerals on 4 corners, Bank of Madras written on top 2 panels in English, Persian, Telugu & Tamil and Denominations written on bottom 2 panels in the same 4 languages. Printed Serial 11774 on both halves. Manuscript Signature of Secy. & Treasurer, Robert Hunter. Printed by Perkins, Bacon & Petch, London. Rev: BANK OF MADRAS in big bold fonts and Denomination in big bold words. (J&R 1C.3.1.6.) printer PB&P, Graded by PMG 12 Fine NET. Note: two “CANCELLED” chop marks below each serial numbers, Repaired, Reattached at Center. Never seen earlier as issued notes but only known to exist as Specimen Proofs.
