Baroda State, Malhar Rao (AH 1287-1292, 1870-1875 AD), Copper Paisa, 8.49 gms, 22.74 mm, Kadi Mint, overstruck or multiple struck on both sides, Obv. ‘Shri’ in nagari & numeral 2 with a mace mark, Rev. kadi symbol & traces of AH date on top, It is plausible that these coins were struck at Kadi District located about 50 kilometres northwest from Ahmedabad, Kadi coins were struck under the rebellious Gaikwad ruler, Malhar Rao Gaikwad, who was also the Jagirdar of Kadi in early 19th century, usually Kadi issue coins are counterstruck on baroda state copper coins, very fine+, very rare.
