Hindu Rulers of Medieval Kashmir, Utpala Dynasty, Sugandha Rani (905-907 AD), Copper Drachm, 5.99 gms, Obv. Goddess Lakshmi seated facing Nagari legends ‘Sri Suga’, Rev. King standing facing and sacrificing with his right hand over altar, very fine, very scarce.
Note: Sugandha Rani was one of only two queens to have ruled Kashmir, She ascended the throne after her husband Sankara Varman died in battle and her infant son Gopala Varman was murdered, But her nobles killed her after just two years on the throne.
