Tripura Kingdom, Dhanya Manikya (SE 1412-1442, 1490-1526 AD), citing Queen Kamala, Tripurendra Type, Silver Tanka, 10.45 gms, SE 1412, Obv. Note: Dhanya Manikya was a prominent and powerful ruler of the Manikya dynasty in Tripura. His reign, approximately from 1490 to 1515 AD, was distinguished by significant military expansion, architectural contributions, and administrative reforms, leading many to consider him one of the dynasty's leading figures.
His wife was Queen Kamala. He named a large water body, Kamalasagar, in front of a temple he constructed in her honor, and many of his coins also bore her name. Dhanya Manikya reportedly died from smallpox in 1515 AD, after which his queen performed the ritual of Sati.
