    Pauravas of Punjab, Mahindramitra (2nd-1st Century BC), Copper Unit, 3.98 gms, Obv: Lion standing t right with raised tail with brahmi inscription around, Rev. bushy railed tree with indradhwaja in left field & partial Kharosthi legends around, Pieper #1386, MIG959+, Hoover #857, about very fine, extremely rare. Note: The few known coins of these Pauravas of Punjab are all extremely rare. Altogether less than ten Paurava coins have been published. This is probably the same tribe to which king Poros belonged, who is known for his hard-fought resistance to the invasion of Alexander the Great.
