Baroda State, Malhar Rao (AH 1287-1292, 1870-1875 AD), Copper ½ Paisa, 4.72 gms, Kadi Mint, number '5' with letter 'Ji' on the reverse, It is plausible that these coins were struck at Kadi District located about 50 kilometres northwest from Ahmedabad, Kadi coins were struck under the rebellious Gaikwad ruler, Malhar Rao Gaikwad, who was also the Jagirdar of Kadi in early 19th century, usually Kadi issue coins are counterstruck on baroda state copper coins, this specimen is not a counterstruck specimen on any other host coin, hence very rare & collectible, missing in major collections, Unlisted in KM, very fine, very rare.
