PS, Kutch, Rao Bharmalji I (1586-1632 AD), silver kori, with the name of Mughal Emperor Jahangir, Devanagari 'Ji' in Bharaji, DR-K 28.1, 4.79g. Obv: Crude Farsi legend Sikka zad dar Jahan Khusroo Giti Sitan with trident and Devanagari legend Rau Shri Bharaji at the bottom. Rev: Farsi legend Shah Noor al-Din Jahangir ibn Akbar Badshah.About Uncirculated, Rare.Rao Bharmalji, also known as 'Rao Bhara' was recognized by Jahangir as the one of the 'largest landholders of the province of Gujarat'. He paid a visit Jahangir while the latter was in Ahmadabad in 1618 (Ah1027). Jahangir granted Bhara a personal audience, and Bhara spent two months with the Mughal Court, travelling with it to the borders of the province as the entourage moved from Ahmadabad to Mandu. During this time, Jahangir permitted Bhara to strike coins in his name. Upon return to Kutch, Bharmalji inaugurated a series of Koris bearing the Mughal Emperor's name.
