Chandragupta I, ‘king and queen’ type, Unlisted in Kumar TOTGE 2024, similar to Class I, variety A.2 This is a rare type where in the reverse, the Goddess is seated in Lalitasana pose and outline of the throne visible. An excellent coin for discerning collectors.c. 319-335, AV dinar, 7.47 g. Obverse: ‘king and queen’ type; king standing at right, queen at left both with halo, facing each other, king holding up right hand, Brahmi legend at left Sri Kumarade(vi), Brahmi legend right Chandra (gupta). Reverse: goddess enthroned facing, seated on lion facing right, holding diadem and cornucopia, tamgha to left, Brahmi inscription at right, dotted border around.
